Eligibility Criteria

An applicant belonging to the previously mentioned category should possess the following minimum qualifications in appropriate areas to be eligible to apply for Ph. D programme of the University

Candidates for admission to the Ph. D program shall have 55% marks in Master’s degree for the admission in Ph.D. program

 

  • Five Percent Relaxation in the minimum eligibility is provided to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
  • It is desirable that the applicants who possess minimum prescribed qualifications for admission to Ph. D program, should have an excellent academic/professional track record in the relevant discipline

Candidates with valid NET/JRF/SLET/GATE/GPAT scores are exempted from the written test.

Duration of the Programe

Ph.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of two years excluding course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, but not beyond more than two years.

Procedure for Admission

RBU Ph.D. Entrance Examination

Entrance examination to be conducted by RBU. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of questions that test research/ analytical/ comprehension/quantitative aptitude. Qualifying marks in the entrance test will be 50%, provided that a relaxation of 5% of marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layers)/Differently-abled category in the entrance examination conducted by the Universities
